FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Shipping, authenticity, condition and trade-ins. If your question is not here, the contact form is one click away.
Yes. Every cartridge is board-checked against a known-good reference before listing. We do not stock reproductions or bootlegs, and if we ever ship one by mistake it comes back at our cost.
Every console is opened, cleaned inside and out, recapped where the capacitors test out of spec, and run through a full play session with every port, switch and input checked. The tier below describes appearance only. Everything ships working.
Excellent. Looks close to new. Light shelf wear only, nothing you would notice at arm’s length. No cracks, deep scratches or significant yellowing.
Good. Honest used condition, where most retro hardware genuinely sits. Visible scuffs, light scratches or mild yellowing consistent with age. Shell solid, nothing missing.
Acceptable. Cosmetically rough and priced accordingly. Expect deep scratches, heavy yellowing or fading, marker or sticker residue, or a hairline crack in the shell.
Every console ships with what you need to play: power supply, AV cable, and controllers where the listing says so. Original box and manual are not implied at any tier, including Excellent. If an item is complete in box, the listing states it.
The same three-part idea, adapted for cartridges and disc games alike, from NES up through 360 and PS4.
Good. Complete and clean. Disc games have case, artwork and disc present, with the case intact or lightly scuffed. Cartridge games have an intact, clean label with minor edge or corner wear at most.
Acceptable. Complete but worn. Disc games may have a cracked or replaced case, or creased and faded artwork. Cartridge games may show heavy label wear, fading, sticker residue, previous-owner writing or a small tear.
Loose. Disc or cartridge only, with no case, artwork or manual. Loose is always paired with a condition, so you will see Loose, good or Loose, acceptable, telling you both what is included and what shape it is in. Loose discs ship in a protective sleeve.
Every disc is resurfaced. Scratches are machine-polished out before a game is listed, which is why disc condition does not appear in the tiers above. For disc games the grade describes the case and artwork. Resurfacing removes scratches, it does not make a twenty year old disc look factory fresh, so expect light surface marks. What it does mean is that the disc reads cleanly end to end.
Every game is play tested. Not powered on and glanced at, actually loaded and played in a working console. Where a cartridge has a save battery, saving and loading are confirmed.
No. There are no exceptions, no for-parts units and nothing sold as seen. If it does not work, it does not get listed. That applies to every console, cartridge and disc on the site, at every condition tier.
Orders placed before midday on a business day usually leave the same day, otherwise the next business day. Every parcel goes out tracked and you get the number by email.
Yes, within thirty days. The item needs to come back in the condition it arrived in. If the fault is ours we sort out the return at our cost.
It starts on the Sell Your Games page. Tell us what you have and add a few photos if you can. Rough condition notes are fine, and you do not need to grade anything or look up values first.
We come back with a written offer, usually the same day. Nothing is agreed until you accept it, so asking costs you nothing.
If you go ahead, we email a prepaid shipping label. Pack the box, drop it off, and the shipping is on us.
When your box arrives we check the items against what you described. If everything matches, payment goes out within two business days.
You choose how you are paid. Either PayPal Goods and Services, which gives you PayPal’s protection on the transaction, or store credit on your account here, which we top up by 20 percent. A 100 dollar offer becomes 120 dollars to spend in the shop.
If something turns out different from what we expected, we tell you and send a revised offer rather than quietly adjusting the total. If you would rather keep your items at that point, we ship them back at our cost.
We buy single games, whole collections, accessories, and consoles that no longer work.
